SERPENTINE

Serpentine National Park, NZ

Serpentine is a ‘portrait’ of a tree. Trees are endowed with personality. In my opinion they are a poetic contrast of chaos and perfection, strength and fragility, which never cease to captivate me. When I encounter a ‘character’, such as the one captured in this piece, I’m inspired to try and portray all of its contradictions, character traits and complexities.
