A powerfully, potent, almost tangible atmosphere of expectance flows up from its depths. Like a long, drawn-out breath it hangs in the air, awaiting the return of water and rejuvenation. This work is an ode to the sunburnt country, and the resilience of nature to withstand the harshest conditions. It is inspired by the unique colours of Karijini and the dramatic, ever-changing moments of light and shadow that are cast across this awe-inspiring landscape.
