SOLITUDE
Moons Crossing, Northcliffe, WA
This quiet, secluded spot buried deep in the heart of the South West karri forest is saturated with an ambience of profound peace. On a summer’s evening I sat by this river’s edge while my family fished for marron. As the evening shadows lengthened, the true magic of this place became deeply engraved on my soul. Gradually, as night unfolded, the forest wrapped closer, and the path of the river transformed into an inky-black, star-speckled void. This work was inspired by the gift of that night and the solitude, and it is a contemplation of the all-embracing solace and peace found at nature’s heart.
